SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol used to secure communication between two computers over the internet. It provides encryption for data sent between the two computers, making it difficult for an attacker to intercept and read the data. For example, SSL is used to secure online banking transactions, credit card payments, and other sensitive information sent over the internet.
